I did some searching and found & downloaded the Avast uninstall utility here: I ran it and followed the prompts to boot into safe mode. Recently I updated to Windows 10, and today I got a popup message from the Avast upgrade utility, which was a surprise since I thought it was uninstalled. A few months ago, I uninstalled it via the Windows 7 control panel. I'm having a problem removing Avast completely.
